What are Permanodes?

Permanodes will receive incentives for their service.

You can run a Nem supernode or Delegated Harvesting and Proof of Importance.

The NEM Supernode’s program is funded with XEM set aside during the Nemesis block. These awards are then given to high-performance nodes for helping to secure the network.

How can I benefit or get paid for running a supernode?

Every Supernode has to pass a series of tests, those who pass get a guaranteed incentive for supporting the network having met a certain level of performance.

About rewards: Will be rewarded with approx 140.000 xem/day divided with the number of nodes (currently at approx 550). 140,000/550 = 254.54/day.

254.54 x 365 = 92,910 XEM = 3,09 % ROI.

What is Harvesting?

Harvesting is similar to ‘mining’ XEM.

When a new block is created the harvesting account gets the fees. You require a minimum vested balance of 10,000 XEM to start harvesting plus an importance transaction fee of 0.15 XEM.

Local & Delegated Harvesting:

There are two ways to harvest with NEM, local and delegated.

Most people will use the delegated harvesting option, this means that you delegate your ‘Importance Score’ (luck) to a Supernode and they will harvest for you. It is important to note that there is no difference in how much transaction fees you will get if you choose local or delegated.

Tezos is a new platform for smart contracts and decentralized applications.

Any stakeholder can participate in the consensus process in Tezos and be rewarded by the protocol itself for contributing to the security and stability of the network, but also users who do not wish to participate directly in the consensus protocol have the option to delegate their rights to other users to participate on their behalf.

These four ways (called reward types) depend on various parameters that determine how much Thor Power your VeChain will generate. This is called the Thor Power generation rate.

NODES

There are different types of Vechain masternodes:

Limited to 101 users. KYC + 25,000,000 $Vet as collateral.

Authority Masternodes are rewarded by the network for maintaining the VeChainThor blockchain and participating in the platform governance. In addition to the VeThor that is automatically generated from the holding of VET, 30% of the VeThor consumed by transactions in a block will be paid out to Authority Masternodes equally, while the other 70% will be burned.

The economic nodes are not used to validate the blockchain, but offer stability to the ecosystem and provide benefits compared to regular VeChain owners. Economic node holders get higher thor production rates compared to none-node Vechain owners.

To get an economic node, a certain amount of vet has to be placed in the Thor Power forge (part of the VeChain wallet, more information on this will get released once we move closer the launch of the main net) for a certain amount of time (the maturity period).

Three types:

Mjolnir — 15,000,000 Vet. 30 days maturity period.

Thunder — 5,000,000 Vet. 20 days maturity period.

Strength — 1,000,000 Vet. 10 days maturity period.
