Strength Is The Most Important Virtue

I was ranting to my buddy at work the other day about how in order to be a “good” man, you have to be dangerous first.

Here’s what I told him.

The giraffe would not consider the mouse “good” or “merciful” for not killing him. The mouse is weak, and cannot do significant damage to the giraffe. He doesn’t kill the giraffe, not because he is kind or good, but because he CAN’T.

But if the lion spared the giraffe, it would be considered kindness by the giraffe. Because the lion has the power and strength to destroy but does not.

Now, this is a very simplified and even ridiculous example. Of course, I’ve personified animals here that simply DON’T think like people. Animals can’t be kind either way.

But I did so to help illustrate this concept.

The only laws that truly hold in all cases are the laws of nature. Tooth and claw. You simply can’t rely on the laws of man to protect you or to give you justice.

Only those with power can defend themselves. Whether it comes from strength, guile, money, or your family tree, power is something you should strive to have more of.

And I’m not saying you should be vying for your states Senator seat. Only that having more power is better than having less.

To use another animal example.

The cat will kill a mouse without hesitation. Not because he hates the mouse. It’s just her nature. The mouse has less power.

But the house cat can’t kill a Cheetah. That’s how the hierarchy works.

I’ll strive to be on top of the hierarchy. To gain more power through good personal finances, creating an income stream that doesn’t rely on a boss’s power to fire me, and wiping out all debt that can be used against me.

That’s what I believe in. Because power is self-evident. It is nature’s way.

And there is no denying nature.
