How I started

Growing up without a mother since the age of 9 affected my emotions to a very great extent. I always felt a sense of regret for not being able to spend enough time with her. She left too soon, as soon that I couldn’t even get a chance to tell her how much I loved her. This sense of deprivation led to be more Expressive towards my father with whom my relationship was somewhat similar to the relationship between a beggar and donator. Before my mother’s death the only time I used to reach my father was for money. He was not a typical father neither he’d hurt me in any way but it was our desi family system which led us to behave like that. However due to my mother’s departure my father was equally miserable as I was. To lessen my pain and disregard the regret I shifted my complete attention and love towards my father. Which I think was the best decision of my life.

First steps are always the hardest to take, so were mine. But eventually I vanquished over the fear of awkwardness of expressing my love. I started by “good morning hug" then proceeded to give and take compliments from him and after ten years I have grown up the strongest relationship with him. He’s my bestfriend for the time being now.

He loves me for being expressive towards him, he shows his gratitude by mentioning my little efforts to his friends and relatives and he often Tells me about his day, thoughts and past life. He too has become more articulate in the last ten years which I think is very healthy for him as he’s suffered from the pain of loosing the love of his life.

The only thing I want to tell everyone is that we as human being never know what’s inside someone’s heart or mind. The only thing We know and feel about someone is what we’ve been told or shown by that person. Same goes for us. It takes a very little effort to make a compliment or pass a smile to your loved ones but its influence is measureless. ❤️
